FONTAINEBLEAU COACH TRIP 12 ~ 13 SEPTEMBER
This is now oversubscribed ~ if you wish to be included please let me know and you will be put on standby.
Sixth Annual Reunion and Dinner Saturday 18 October 2003
The service at the Courtyard last October left a lot to be desired so this year we shall meet at the Honiley Court Hotel near Warwick where 40 rooms are reserved. Over 80 people can be accommodated for the Dinner. All their facilities appear superior to those at the Courtyard.
A rate of £48.50 per person for one night - £97.00 per person for two nights has been negotiated. This includes dinner bed and breakfast with private dining on Saturday night. There are no single supplements.
As previously we shall each select our courses in advance from a pre-agreed menu ~ 3 choices for each course and lodge them with the hotel in advance.
Subject to adequate facilities being available at the hotel Colin Hogg has agreed to give us some musical entertainment after the dinner.
All bookings will be made through me and you will be required to settle your account when checking out of the hotel. A deposit of £10 per person, not later than 31 March, is required in order to secure this booking. I will co-ordinate the function and therefore ask that your cheques for deposits are made payable to D M Rogerson. If due to unforeseen circumstances you have to cancel later your deposit will be returned.
Please complete and return the attached slip and enclose your deposit as soon as possible ~ if you wish to attend.
George Millington has moved south from Ayrshire to Walsall in the West Midlands.
Alistair and Monica Fraser have trundled off to set up home in Darlington.
John Ross and Marjorie Aylward’s planned relocation to the West Country was cancelled and they decided to stay in Oakham. John Ross continues his excellent recovery following his radiotherapy treatment.
Some copies of the last Newsletter that was circulated in early November have not completed their circuits. This is disappointing as some of those at the top end of the list may have put their names down for the Fontainebleau coach trip and this has not filtered down to me. Once again I appeal to you all to let me know if you plan to be absent from home for more than a couple of weeks. You can receive your Newsletter when you return. It will save me a lot of worry and time phoning round to see where the Newsletter is “stuck”
When forwarding Newsletters please ensure that you stamp the envelope with adequate postage. The Post Office charges the recipient with the postage due plus 80p administration fee and often the package has to be collected from the sorting office which adds to the delay. It is recommended that you stamp the envelope to the value of 33p (second class) ~ this will probably increase on 1 April when the new postal rates come into force.
