We recently sadly learned that Brian Moulding had died in February 2020.

Brian served during the 50’s as an MT Driver at Camp Guynemer. Following demob he returned to France, married & raised a son & a daughter. He lived the rest of his life in Fontainebleau, returning only on occasion to visit his father in Preston. He is remembered as having served as barman at the popular Malcolm Club

Latterly, as a widower he shared his time living in the Rue du Bois, & a well equipped cabin in Montigny beside the River Loing where he enjoyed fishing. He was a good friend of the late Charley Collyer, attending his funeral on behalf of the FVA. He was particularly helpful in arranging access to Guynemer during our visits. In 2016 he obtained permission for the family of Keith Adams to plant a memorial tree on the camp. He would correspond with Andrà Hublier who he met on an FVA visit to YÃvres.

Poor health & failing eyesight eventually affected his ability to drive.

Always cheerful he will be fondly remembered by all who met him.

Thank you Brian for your friendship !

RIP.
